There have been occasions when I have just gone in – to a pool or the sea – fully clothed, because the temptation was too great and I could not resist… nor spend time worrying about whether to look for a swim-suit, or change, or just get undressed – that was far too complicated. I wasn’t wearing much anyway – a simple light summer dress – so I just went in. I have also resisted the temptation to run out of the rain, and just enjoyed being in the rain, getting wet, being washed by the Heavens! The ultimate must be skinny-dipping in the sea, in the rain! To act impromptu is so satisfying, it makes me wonder how many other things we do or don’t do ‘in the moment’. We are held back by what we ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ do. How can we live authentically in such an inhibited mind-field?
I am enjoying your blog very much and will return to read more.

One of my all time favourite things to do…second only to skinny dipping. The kid never escapes from this body!

Thank-you! Yes, Michael is a special guy. I think the Nineth Configuration will have a lot to say to him. I’ve watched it a number of times and still see new things in it. It’s a beautiful movie on many levels. And welcome to the pier!

Whose voice? As long as it’s wise, loving and full of compassion, I give the credit to ‘whatever it is that is not my ego’.

I’ve arrived on your doorstep (pier) thanks to a link provided by Michael. You made a comment about The Ninth Configuration a few days ago on his blog. Thanks for mentioning it -I just watched it last night and I was completely absorbed the whole time. I will have to watch it again to catch more of the myriad of nuances and intricacies.

This puts a whole “new” meaning to “falling in love,” doesn’t it?

Allowing yourself to love not only others, but starting with that child that wants to love deeply inside of you.

Three years, huh? Tough, but doable. I’ve had many friends of the opposite sex and have not slept with one, even though an “unpure” thought passed my mind a couple or three times (all right, maybe more.)

Loved all of ‘em, but in a way where it was uplifting, inspirational and compassionately. Kinda like the feeling I got after learning how to forgive myself for . . . well, you name it. Growing up Catholic caused me to develop a sense of guilt whether I deserved it or not.

Thanks for your insight. Good to see you again.

You know I have always had a hard time with that concept…” living in the present moment. I was raised to understand that ALL TIME IS NOW. Like your idea of seeing the whole book, not just each individual word.
sigh.. sometimes I think it is a “cultural thing” trying to confine us to one space.
